PACKAGES FOR 2009 SEASON
Your fishing adventure to the Arctic with Plummer’s Lodges starts with air service from Yellowknife on chartered 737 and turbo prop aircraft to our private runways situated on three of the earth’s Fishing Wonders of the World, Great Slave Lake, Great Bear Lake and the Tree River.
Whether it is a three day trip or a four day trip out to our lodge on Great Slave Lake for trophy lake trout, pike and grayling the non-stop action will certainly demonstrate how this remote fishing Mecca got its world renowned reputation. You won’t believe the 20, 30 and 40lb lakers being caught in the narrows right in front of the lodge! Seven day trips are also available to Great Slave Lake Lodge so if you have the time, spend it well at this beautifully situated lodge.
If you have a fishing party of 12 – 16 and want a little piece of the giant Great Bear Lake all to yourself you can book our Neiland Bay Lodge on Great Bear Lake. Even if you are alone or fish with a friend or grandchild the small intimate lodge is where memories are made. A brand new fleet of custom built 18 foot Lund boats and 40HP four stroke Yamaha outboards await you at Neiland Bay to take you on the fishing experience only a handful of us in this world get to add to our collection.
Trophy Lodge on Great Bear Lake comes by its name honestly. It is also the best pike fishing location on the lake. Trophy Lodge is situated on a beautiful sandy beach that tempts the anglers on a hot sunny day in July under the 24 hour sun. You only have to get in as far as your ankles to be reminded of where you are - and that is in the Arctic! The resident beaver float plane at Trophy Lodge can get you into even more remote fishing holes including being the take off point for trips to our leases on the Coppermine River for Arctic Char. Trophy Lodge hosts Plummer’s annual Medical and Dental Continuing Education Seminars. These are listed on the back page of this newsletter.
The main lodge on Great Bear Lake has gotten into the blood of many serious lake trout, grayling and arctic char fishers around the world. There is just no substitute. The fascination for and the magnetic attraction to the north that has defined so many of us and our adventure side must have been delivered by a mosquito on our first visit to the tundra. Plummer’s Great Bear Lake Lodge is the site where the largest lake trout ever caught on rod and reel took place. It is also the take off point for overnight trips to Plummer’s Tree River Lodge where the world record for Arctic Char resides and is the undisputed best char river in the world.
All of the trips to our lodges include airfare from Yellowknife, fully guided fishing trips, boats and all fuel. Our boats are equipped with sonar and GPS and our professional guides are second to none. All meals are included and cabin maid service is provided daily. Our staff greet you in the morning with a pot of fresh coffee at your cabin door followed by a warm smile in the dining room for a hot breakfast.
